Imagine working on something special for over a month and half along with 50 other people, building in some of the coldest temperatures with some of the coldest materials possible, only to tear it all down 3 months later. All of your hard work and long hours put into this project, gone in a matter of minutes. This is the reality of the workers assigned to build Quebec’s famous ice hotel each year.
Quebec City is one of my favorite cities to visit. Normally I’m not the type of person to enjoy going to the same place twice, I’d rather explore somewhere new each time, but with this town, it’s different. I fell in love with Quebec the first time I ever visited and I just keep getting drawn back here, not only for the adorable Old Quebec part of town with all the old buildings and the cobblestone streets but also for the stunning landscapes of places such as the Montmorency Falls. While the city is a beautiful place to visit regardless of the season, there’s something extra special about going in the winter with everything looking even more magical under a blanket of white snow.
