With a dromedary camel on one side of you and massive yaks strolling past you on the opposite side, this unique zoo is one of the only places in North America that will leave you feeling like you’re on your own African safari in the comfort of your own vehicle.

With a little over 1,000 inhabitants, the small village of Venise en Quebec boasts beautiful beaches and stunning landscapes and is only 45 minutes away from Montreal. This choice holiday destination is found on the banks of the Lake Champlain between the stunning region of the Eastern Townships and the state of Vermont. Here you will find visitors flocking to the village during the summer months for the endless beaches and campsites but Venise also gets a lot of love in the winter for the popular ice fishing spots found on the lake.

DISCOVER QUEBEC | VISITING NORTH AMERICA’S LONGEST SUSPENDED BRIDGE

If you are from Quebec the name Coaticook probably sounds familiar to you. If you’re trying to remember where you’ve seen that name before, think back to the last time that you were browsing the aisles at your grocery store. That is because Coaticook is the name of one of the most famous ice cream brands in the province and can be found in virtually every grocery store in the area but did you know that besides ice cream, Coaticook is also known for being the home of North America’s longest suspended pedestrian bride. If you’re not too scared of heights or suffer from vertigo, the bridge can be visited through the Parc de la Gorge found in the center of Coaticook which has become one of the most popular tourist attractions in the Eastern Townships region.

UNIVERSAL YUMS | TRYING SNACKS FROM FRANCE

France, the country known for the city of love, the Eiffel tower, and of course for yummy treats such as crepes, baguettes, and macaroons. It is also the country that pioneered the term ‘fine dining’ after a group of French chefs set out to develop a style of cuisine that was distinctly French without any influence from the Western world back in the 1700’s. Though there are some treats in this months box that might seem familiar to you such as potato chips, rest assured that chestnut caramels and violet infused chocolate bars among many other snacks included are purely French, so let’s get right into the snacks from this month’s Universal Yums box and bon appetit.
