Situated in the gorgeous city of Kingston, Ontario is the Courtyard by Marriott hotel. Having recently spent a few days in this city, we ended up staying here for a night so today I’ll be sharing with you my full in depth review of this hotel as well as a few photos of the place.
The Courtyard by Marriott hotel can be found right beside the King’s Crossing outlet mall and is also situated very conveniently near multiple different restaurants ranging from Swiss Chalet to Taco Bell. There is also a movie theater found right in front of the hotel which is great if it happens to be a rainy day. Though I would’ve loved to stay more in the heart of Kingston near the City Hall and other attractions, the downtown area is only a quick and easy 10 minute drive away from the hotel. The general area of the hotel also feels very safe and secure which is always a plus when you’re in a new place that you’re not familiar with.
Upon staying here, we opted for the standard room which included a king size bed as well as a sofa bed. The cost to stay here one night was around $240 CAD but well worth the price. The rooms were impeccably clean and spotless as well as spacious and inviting. There was a cute little coffee/bar nook in the room equipped with everything you may need from a coffee machine to an ice bucket and glasses. The only small problem we had with the room ( and this is us being picky ) was that the shower in our bathroom had very low water pressure and it was quite annoying to take a shower but other than that there were no complaints about our room. There is also free wireless internet included with each room.
Services & Amenities
Going back on the price, the Courtyard by Marriott has so many services and amenities that come with booking a room here that even if it’s a bit pricier than some other hotels you could find in Kingston, it makes up for it. Starting in the main lobby, there is a quite large eating area equipped with an affordable bistro type restaurant. We ate breakfast here on the day that we left and it was amazing for the price. There is also an outdoor patio area where you can enjoy your food or just to hang out in general. Also in the lobby of the hotel there is a game and lounge area equipped with a few board games, a television, as well as a couple of chairs and couches. Moving on wards to the pool area, this hotel not only has an indoor pool but there is also a water slide and a jetted hot tub which was quite nice to enjoy after a day filled with walking around and exploring the downtown area of Kingston. There is also a small gym located off the pool area that has about 5-6 workout machines and some weights. Parking is also free when staying here and there is quite the large parking area found in front of the hotel.
In the end this hotel was gorgeous and was well worth the price. Though we would’ve loved to have stayed more in the downtown area closer to everything as I mentioned before, this was a great alternative. I would recommend this hotel to anyone that is planning on staying in Kingston and when I find myself back in the city I would more than likely stay here again.
